So,
what is a credit union? What’s it all about?
It’s
about commitment to service, social responsibility, not-for-profit,
member-owned cooperative, volunteers and directors, one member, one
vote and 100
million
members worldwide.
Berks
Community Federal Credit Union was originally chartered as Dana
Reading Federal Credit Union in 1953 by a small group of Parish
Pressed Steel employees. Tired of poor service and interest rates at
local banks, they formed the credit union to provide the Parish
Pressed Steel employees with an alternative financial institution.
Over the years, the credit union continued to grow. Today, we now
serve approximately 10,000 members and have assets exceeding $56
Million.
Why
have we continued to be successful? We believe it’s because of two
reasons:
-
We
have maintained a strong belief in the credit union movement’s
PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE
philosophy;
-
We
are DEDICATED to providing quality financial products and
services for our members.
We have enjoyed the incredible
loyalty and support of our members.
