To become a member of Berks
Community Federal Credit Union, simply open a share (savings)
account with as little as $5. Your $5 share (savings) account is
your stake in the credit union. It's what makes your credit union
different from other financial institutions. At Berks Community
Federal Credit Union, you're not just an account number - you're a
member and a part owner. Your $5 deposit immediately entitles you
to take advantage of the wide array of products and services your
credit union has to offer.
Also, upon opening a Berks
Community Federal Credit Union share (savings) account, you are
now required to pay a one-time membership fee of $3.00. To join
the credit union, you must present two forms of valid I.D.
containing your current street address. One form of I.D. must be a
photo I.D., either a driver's license or a state issued I.D. card.
The second form of I.D. may be vehicle registration, a utility
bill, etc.
In Order to protect
your funds, we began thumb printing new member accounts on October
1, 2003. This program helps us reduce check fraud. Rest assured,
the thumbprint remains on file and is not used by the Credit Union
for any other purpose. The credit union also collects thumbprints
from current members, opening new accounts.
